Ten Silly Things You Do That Make You Less Likeable

I did some digging to uncover the key behaviors that hold people back when it comes to likeability. Make certain these behaviors don’t catch you by surprise. 1) -Humble-bragging.  We all know those people who like to brag about themselves behind the mask of self-deprecation. For example, the gal who makes fun of herself for being a nerd when she really wants to draw attention to the fact that she’s smart or the guy who makes fun of himself for having a strict diet when he really wants you to know how healthy and fit he is. While many people think that self-deprecation masks their bragging, everyone sees right through it. This makes the bragging all the more frustrating, because it isn’t just bragging; it’s also an attempt to deceive. 2)- Being too serious.  People gravitate toward those who are passionate. That said, it’s easy for passionate people to come across as too serious or uninterested, because they tend to get absorbed in their work. Likeable people balance

We can only rescue Nigeria next election. "Who Destroyed Nigeria?

Ole gbe, Ole gba !!! From one thief to another. *It is not a PDP vs APC thing* Nigeria is coutry of priviledge thieves. - Dr Piri We can only rescue Nigeria next election. "Who Destroyed Nigeria? PLEASE READ The defensive narrative in recent times, especially from those who support the present regime, is that "PDP Destroyed" our country and it will take several years to rebuild it. With both right and wrong data. However, if the above assertion is true, then a close look at the current political gladiators leaves us with no other conclusion than to admit that Nigeria is very far from the desired change. 1. *Sen. Pres. Bukola Saraki. PDP Governor for 8yrs and PDP Senator for over 3 yrs.* He joined APC in 2014. Now the Senate President. 2. *Speaker Yakubu Dogara. Two-term PDP House of Rep member.* Joined APC in 2014 and elected for the third time in 2015. Now the Speaker. 3. *VP Atiku Abubakar. Nigeria's PDP Vice-President for 8yrs* and presently an APC Elder

Give Yourself Something to Pursue. Even if You Fail, The World is Better off With You Having Tried

“ Pursue ” is a strong and meaningful word. To pursue is to go after something that means everything to you. If you pursue an activity, interest, or plan, you carry it out or follow it. Brené Brown says follow your curiosity. It’s easy and comforable to run through the maze of life without pausing to think of its meaning. Does what I’m doing matter? More importantly, does it matter to me? When you pursue something, you are not sitting around idly waiting for something to happen or to come along. You run hard and sometimes even fight to pursue. You fight for your calling. Life is too short and too precious to NOT pursue something that brings out the best in you. Tim O’Reilly made a profound statement about pursuing something meaningful. He once said: “Pursue something so important that even if you fail, the world is better off with you having tried.” Today, right now, is the best time ever to choose to do something that truly matters. Something you alone can sha

The Secret to Happiness Is 10 Specific Behaviors

The Secret to Happiness Is 10 Specific Behaviors Listen to this song while you read ? It’s a beaut. *** Despite happiness being a primary human motivation, only one in three Americans say they’re very happy. Several years ago in an interview with Conan O’Brien , Louis C. K. tells of flying on a newly equipped Wi-Fi airplane. He was amazed by the new technology. Until, during the flight, the Wi-Fi went down. Immediately, the man next to him became extremely upset. “As though the world owes this man something he only knew existed 10 seconds ago.” Louis C. K. continues by describing people’s absurd frustrations with flying in general. People complain about it all the time “ It was the worst day of my life! It took 20 minutes to board! We had to sit on the runway for 40 minutes!” We hear complaints like these all the time. As if we’ve forgotten how incredible it is that humans can fly at all. How are we so quick to take for granted the remarkable things going on in life?

I am at Shalom West. My name is David and I am all yours.” Those were David Ochola’s words during his 911 (U.S. Emergency Number) call to authorities after shooting dead, his 28 years old wife, Priscilla Ochola, in Hennepin, Minnesota. The 50-years old, husband was tired of being “disrespected” by his wife, a Registered Nurse (RN) whom he had brought from Nigeria and sponsored through nursing school only to have her make much more than him in salary - a situation which led to Mrs. Ochola “coming and going as she chose without regard for her husband.” The couple had two children – four years old boy and a three year old girl. Types of People Who ALWAYS Struggle With Their Career

The American Dream is supposed to be the standard for not only those in America but for people all around the world. The one your parents, grandparents or teachers have taught you about. The one that was made famous by James Truslow Adams in 1931 when he wrote,” that dream is a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with the opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” As you get older it seems prophetic, which is why so many in prior generations fell in love with his dream. But somewhere along the road, Adams’ dream faded. Maybe it was decades of prosperity in America that caused complacency, maybe it was the brokenness in homes or maybe it was that people just got lazy. In many ways it doesn’t matter why it faded, the point is it did. It has caused a generation to struggle to understand why they exist and what they are meant to do. It’s caused the highest job hopping rates of all time, limited innovation, a disengaged workforce and a bun

Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, in an alleged memo to President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2016,

El-Rufai to Buhari: “Our APC administration has failed” Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, in an alleged memo to President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2016, told the President that the All Progressives Congress, APC, party “has not only failed to manage expectations of a populace that expected overnight ‘change’ but has failed to deliver even mundane matters of governance outside of our successes in fighting BH insurgency and corruption.” He also said in the letter that, ““Overall, the feeling even among our supporters today is that the APC government is not doing well.” Mr. El-Rufai also told President Buhari that he(Buhari) remained Nigeria’s only hope now, adding that it is not too late to reverse the situation. He also said in the memo that “…it is also clear to many of us that have studied your political career, that so long as you remain in the political landscape, no Northerner will emerge successfully on the national scene.” He said,“All those wasting time, money an

You are living in the wrong country

The world is no more the same. We were all moving (slowly, but surely) in the direction of an open, free world but major events over last couple of years are reversing the direction - Brexit (where Britain voted itself out of EU to 'protect' jobs), recent events in US (travel ban, termination of free trade agreements and increasing trend of hate crimes), many countries refusing Syrian refugees, China's aggression in South China Sea - threatening the rights/sovereignty of many countries, and so on. We are moving in a direction where self interest of a country trumps betterment of human kind, and a country's fortunes could dwindle very quickly by actions of another country. In such a scenario, how do you determine if you are living in the 'right' country? What is the future of mankind? Is this the start of the end of human race? - These questions look far fetched? Read on... Over the generations, humans have evolved from being tribal groups (terr

9 Astonishing Facts in the Quran that will Surprise You

Image
Ever since the dawn of mankind, we have sought to understand nature and our place in it. In this quest for the purpose of life many people have turned to religion. Most religions are based on books claimed by their followers to be divinely inspired, without any proof. Islam is different because it is based upon reason and proof . There are clear signs that the book of Islam, the Quran , is the word of God and we have many reasons to support this claim: · There are scientific and historical facts found in the Quran which were unknown to the people at the time, and have only been discovered recently by contemporary science. · The Quran is in a unique style of language that cannot be replicated, this is known as the ‘ Inimitability of the Quran.’ · There are prophecies made in the Quran and by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which have come to be pass. The following are some facts found in the Quran: 1.  Origin of Life Water is essential for all living things.
