Types of People Who ALWAYS Struggle With Their Career

Image
The American Dream is supposed to be the standard for not only those in America but for people all around the world. The one your parents, grandparents or teachers have taught you about. The one that was made famous by James Truslow Adams in 1931 when he wrote,” that dream is a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with the opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” As you get older it seems prophetic, which is why so many in prior generations fell in love with his dream. But somewhere along the road, Adams’ dream faded. Maybe it was decades of prosperity in America that caused complacency, maybe it was the brokenness in homes or maybe it was that people just got lazy. In many ways it doesn’t matter why it faded, the point is it did. It has caused a generation to struggle to understand why they exist and what they are meant to do. It’s caused the highest job hopping rates of all time, limited innovation, a disengaged workforce and a bun

Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, in an alleged memo to President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2016,

El-Rufai to Buhari: “Our APC administration has failed” Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, in an alleged memo to President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2016, told the President that the All Progressives Congress, APC, party “has not only failed to manage expectations of a populace that expected overnight ‘change’ but has failed to deliver even mundane matters of governance outside of our successes in fighting BH insurgency and corruption.” He also said in the letter that, ““Overall, the feeling even among our supporters today is that the APC government is not doing well.” Mr. El-Rufai also told President Buhari that he(Buhari) remained Nigeria’s only hope now, adding that it is not too late to reverse the situation. He also said in the memo that “…it is also clear to many of us that have studied your political career, that so long as you remain in the political landscape, no Northerner will emerge successfully on the national scene.” He said,“All those wasting time, money an

You are living in the wrong country

The world is no more the same. We were all moving (slowly, but surely) in the direction of an open, free world but major events over last couple of years are reversing the direction - Brexit (where Britain voted itself out of EU to 'protect' jobs), recent events in US (travel ban, termination of free trade agreements and increasing trend of hate crimes), many countries refusing Syrian refugees, China's aggression in South China Sea - threatening the rights/sovereignty of many countries, and so on. We are moving in a direction where self interest of a country trumps betterment of human kind, and a country's fortunes could dwindle very quickly by actions of another country. In such a scenario, how do you determine if you are living in the 'right' country? What is the future of mankind? Is this the start of the end of human race? - These questions look far fetched? Read on... Over the generations, humans have evolved from being tribal groups (terr

9 Astonishing Facts in the Quran that will Surprise You

Image
Ever since the dawn of mankind, we have sought to understand nature and our place in it. In this quest for the purpose of life many people have turned to religion. Most religions are based on books claimed by their followers to be divinely inspired, without any proof. Islam is different because it is based upon reason and proof . There are clear signs that the book of Islam, the Quran , is the word of God and we have many reasons to support this claim: · There are scientific and historical facts found in the Quran which were unknown to the people at the time, and have only been discovered recently by contemporary science. · The Quran is in a unique style of language that cannot be replicated, this is known as the ‘ Inimitability of the Quran.’ · There are prophecies made in the Quran and by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which have come to be pass. The following are some facts found in the Quran: 1.  Origin of Life Water is essential for all living things.

Terms for states as N500b Paris Club refund is ready

Terms for states as N500b Paris Club refund is ready Another London-Paris Club loan refund (about N500billion) is on the way for states— with fresh hurdles for governors. The Presidency has made it mandatory for all the states to account for the first tranche of the loan refunds – in line with the agreement, it reached with the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF). States implicated in the mismanagement of the first tranche may not get the fresh funds. Some of the 36 governors are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) for allegedly diverting the first tranche of the refund. The governors (seven are involved in the scandal) engaged some curious consultants, who got part of their states’ share of the refund. Part of the funds was allocated to some National Assembly leaders who had no business with the refund, it was learnt. The Nation gathered that the Presidency was set to release fresh refund to states —in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s de

Wasiu Ayinde K1 under fire over comments on fuji history, Barrister

Wasiu Ayinde K1 under fire over comments on fuji history, Barrister by Oladeinde Olawoyin Popular fuji musician, Wasiu Anifowose, popularly known as ‘K1 de Ultimate’, is facing criticism over a comment he made about the genesis of fuji music. K1 had, at an entertainment roundtable session in Lagos recently, allegedly said that the late Sikiru Ayinde (Barrister), widely acclaimed to be the creator of fuji music, only facilitated the popularity of the genre. He spoke in Lagos on March 2 as a panellist on Goldberg’s Ariya Repete Roundtable, an event which serves as a precursor to the annual talent hunt and celebration of Yoruba indigenous music. But the comment drew the ire of many fuji fans, especially those on the Barrister Fan Page on Facebook, who took to the social media to vent their anger. Buhari Idowu, a fan of the late Fuji maestro, said, “Wasiu cannot rewrite the history that has been long and well established. It is very unfortunate that Wasiu treated the man whom he rode at hi

Biafra has no future - France

Biafra has no future - France The French government, a former friend of Biafra in the 1967 secession bid, has ruled out any support for the secession of any part of the country, particularly Biafra. France’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, told The Guardian, that his country would not in anyway work with any group agitating for the dismemberment of the nation. He said France was working with Nigeria and supporting it as a country. Speaking against the backdrop of France’s previous support for Biafra during Nigeria’s civil war, Gauer pointed out that Nigeria has evolved since the civil war. France has been cooperating with the country to overcome its challenges, especially the fight against insurgency. However, Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Uchenna Madu told The Guardian that the struggle for Biafra “is real and cannot be stopped by any man created by God” He added: “We in MASSOB do not believe what he s

ITS NOT ABOUT TRIBE, ITS ABOUT FAILED LEADERSHIP By Ugo Chikezie

ITS NOT ABOUT TRIBE, ITS ABOUT FAILED LEADERSHIP By Ugo Chikezie: When I hear people saying one tribe or the other is being marginalized in Nigeria, I just laugh. Because the truth is that every tribe in Nigeria is marginalized. In my opinion there are only TWO TRIBES in Nigeria; 1) THE RULING CLASS 2) THE PEOPLE. It does not matter which language you speak..... if you go round this country, you will see that every region is marginalized. For example, will the families of Theodore Orji, Rochas Okorocha, Ken Nnamani, Anyim Pius, etc in the southeast ever complain of marginalization???? NO!!! Will the families of IBB, Atiku, Saraki, Abacha, Abubakar etc from the north complain of marginalization??? NO!!! Will the families of Ahmed Tinubu, Ayo Fayose, Kashamu, FFK, Fashola, Fayemi etc in the South-West complain of marginalization???? NO!!! Will the families of Godswill Akpabio, Lucky Igbinedion, Goodluck Jonathans, James Ibori, Godsday Orubebe, Diezani Alison Madueke ect in

The Stories Behind 5 Social Networks That Never Caught On

What was the first social network you ever joined? While many people will recall it being Facebook or Twitter, others might remember some of the earlier, less popular social networks. You know, like Friendster, Open Diary, and Orkut? A lot these primitive social networks go forgotten, but that doesn't make their stories any less important. After all, these networks laid the groundwork for the social media giants we use today. Manage and plan your social media content with the help of this free calendar template. In this blog post, we’ll dive into the stories of some of the earliest social networks -- and why they didn’t stick around. From Six Degrees to Snapchat: A Brief History of Social Media One of the first versions of a modern social network, where users could create profiles and interact with one another, is Classmates.com , which launched in 1995 and allowed users to network and share messages and photos with their childhood and college classmates.
